Olly & Heidi Pre Wedding

When I met Olly and Heidi at a wedding in 2019, I didn’t expect an enquiry to find itself in my inbox a few months later… but it did! Olly and Heidi had got engaged a couple of months after their friends’ wedding, right atop the cliffs looking over Durdle Door in Dorset. What a view for a proposal! So, when they came to booking their wedding with me and we chatted about a location for their engagement photos ahead of their wedding at Pylewell Park, I think we all knew it just had to be at Durdle Door!

Fast forward almost a year later, and Olly, Heidi and Rosie the spaniel met me at Durdle Door. I felt very much like a holidaymaker, having never been there before! The couple walked me along the route Olly took when he was about to ask Heidi to marry him, and we got to photographing!

The weather was so changeable that day, we had glorious skies, then clouds rolled in, and then sunny skies again, but I loved it! High up on the cliffs it was so windy, and I was just living for the atmosphere it was creating whilst I was shooting!

After our walk along the cliffs, we made the descent to Durdle Door itself, which is so impressive! If you haven’t been to this area in Dorset before, I urge you to check it out! Although be aware, the beach was packed with holidaymakers embracing the last of the summer sun before it turned into autumn, so we had to walk along a little to find a quiet nook! But we did, and we got the most wonderful photos! Of course, I made sure to get their spaniel Rosie in the photos too, and I think she enjoyed being the centre of attention!

One of the things I am so grateful for with my job, is the opportunities I am given. Being able to meet new people and explore new places, all whilst creating art, which manifests itself in the form something very special for those who book me. I think it’s wonderful to be able to do this, and it’s something I never take for granted!
