Minjoo and James

This wedding looks like it’s something straight out of a novel!

This weekend was a ‘double header’, a term we use in the wedding industry when you’ve got two weddings back to back, and what a stellar weekend it was!

Saturday saw the first of my two weddings for the weekend, as Minjoo and James finally made their vows at the newly-restored and absolutely stunning Hatfield Place, a gorgeous country Manor House based in Hatfield Peverel in Essex. The couple, along with my Sunday couple, sadly had to move their wedding from April, when the UK was in lockdown to over six months later, but were eager to go ahead with their new date in September, just days before the government reduced the number of wedding guests from 30 to 15. Well, I am so glad they did go ahead, because this wedding was all kinds of gorgeous!

I began the day with videographer Lewis Adger, in the bridal suite at Hatfield Place with Minjoo. She was pretty much ready to go when we arrived! Marina from Bridal Hair by Marina had created a beautiful low ponytail for her, and Minjoo had done her own makeup. In fact she was working on the final touches for her bridesmaid and mother in law’s makeup when I arrived, which was so lovely. There’s one particular frame which reminds me of a renaissance painting, as she applies makeup to one of her bridesmaids, whilst the other watches behind. So beautiful!

Minjoo is an incredibly talented painter and artist herself, and having moved from Korea to the UK for her Masters Degree, she soon met James, who was warmly welcomed into her family. Unfortunately travel restrictions meant that her family couldn’t be at their wedding in person, but the couple Zoom streamed the entire wedding to them, where they watched in their wedding outfits!

The day was so gorgeous, and despite planning their wedding in a pandemic, and it being what felt like the windiest day ever, they truly pulled it off. Most importantly, Minjoo got her stunning Vera Wang dress, which James had hoped she would have, and even more importantly, they were able to commit to loving one another for forever.

I am so grateful to couples like Minjoo and James, who against all the odds have still held absolutely fantastic weddings. Their dedication and love for one another shines through, and it really does warm my heart. Love isn’t cancelled!

Thank you so much to both of you for having me be a part of your stunning day, it was such a joy to witness you make your vows!

Love always,

Grace x

I was so lucky to find Grace as my wedding photographer. She knows how to capture the beautiful portrait moments and the colour and mood she creates are just so lovely. As a person she is so thoughtful and communicative, working for our special day with a genuine heart. Will definitely book her again for more of our special days!
