Jess and James

What a rollercoaster ride it has been in the run up to finally meeting Jess and James - just a few days ahead of their Newland Hall wedding!

Jess and James first enquired with me last year ahead of their summer wedding, but I was unfortunately already booked for their date. Fast forward a year, and with Coronavirus causing havoc to the world and the wedding industry, the couple had to postpone their wedding, and in the process they sadly lost their wedding photographer. I have also been on the other end of this situation, losing clients myself, and it is heartbreaking - you never want to lose anyone! However, when Jess and James got back in touch with me to ask about me doing their new date, by a miracle I was available! I was so glad to be able to help them through such a rubbish time. And, after then needing to postpone one more time due to a third national lockdown, finally we got to meet up just a few days ahed of their wedding!

It is so unlike me to not meet my clients until a few days before their wedding! Getting to know you in the run up to the day is so important to me, and video chats just don't cut it! I love having an in person meet up, which is why being able to fit in Jess and James' pre wedding session at Hylands Park on Saturday was fantastic as it gave us a chance to get to know one another beyond our phone screens, and to celebrate the last few days of their engagement.

So with just a few days to go, we headed to Hylands Park in Chelmsford on the coldest, greyest day (I had hoped for a golden hour, but it wasn't to be!), and finally created some magic with them. It was lovely shooting somewhere a bit different, and we basically had the park to ourselves!
