Emi & Jack

A Festival Forest Glade Wedding Filled with Love

Sometimes in this job, you meet people for the first time and yet they feel like they’ve been friends of yours forever. Emi and Jack were those people.

Although we had only known each other just over 10 months, through following them on instagram, come their wedding day, it literally felt like meeting up with two friends and shooting their wedding!

The couple got ready at the gorgeous Eggington House, tucked away just outside of Luton in the countryside. This place is so in the middle of nowhere that I even saw an owl for the first time in real life on my drive home, it was just so serene!

Emi was the most chilled bride, she made sure to get everyone’s hair (since she’s an amazing and very humble hairdresser!) and makeup done before even her own, and she just said ‘Do your thing, and make sure you enjoy it!’ That I did!

After they had got ready, they wed in a totally beautiful blessing in the forest adjacent to the house. Guests had to walk through a maze of roses and along a beautiful pathway to get to the ceremony, which was so intimate and decorated beautifully with flowers from the ridiculously talented Lumen Floral. Emi and Jack both read out their own vows, whilst Emi’s friend of over ten years conducted the ceremony, whilst trying not to cry (I felt the same!)

After the ceremony came a huge receiving line, followed by drinks and (vegan!!) canapés on the lawn. We took a few family photos (including some fab ones with Emi's bridesmaids and bridesgays) and then Emi’s brother ushered everyone into the beautifully decorated marquee at the sound of a gong. He had come all the way from New York, effectively to whack a gong, which was really actually quite cool (as you’ll see in the photos!)

Emi did the most beautiful job with the decor of the marquee, which was totally DIY. She had done everything from the flowers that hung above the tables, to making the candles on the tables, to designing the stationary. She is honestly so talented. In the words of the neon sign that hung on a backdrop made by her now-husband Jack, ‘all you need is love’, which goes to say just what amazing things you can create with some love and hard work.

After speeches and dinner came their couple photos, which were so beautiful (someone pass me a thesaurus as I am running out of adjectives!) in the golden hour, followed by Emi’s outfit change and the first dance with Jack, and then with her dad.

All in all, the day was so gorgeous, and I really felt at home in their company.

Without futher ado, here are just a few preview photos (it was so hard cutting it down to just a few!)
