Micro Weddings

Small is beautiful.

Micro weddings have been around for a long time, but quickly rose in popularity here in the U.K. since Coronavirus kicked off.

A micro wedding falls somewhere between your typical larger wedding, and a super tiny, potentially spur of the moment, secretive elopement. It is by definition, a wedding with around 30 people or less… But they don’t have to be ‘less’ of a wedding!

Micro weddings are about celebrating your day with your nearest and dearest. As a result, they have a totally different vibe and are well suited to couples who are looking for a more low-key affair. I’ve found micro weddings to be more intimate, more relaxed, and sometimes even more fun! They also mean that you can spend more time with one another for your couple portraits (which I usually do in just 20 minutes on a typical wedding day), and with those you love. If you’re downscaling your plans from a typical wedding to a micro wedding, you might even have more budget to include things you might not have been able to, like a videographer, or more expensive outfits, accessories or more lavish flowers and decor. Micro weddings aren’t for everyone though! If you’re looking to elope, with just your partner and your witnesses, making the best of a beautiful landscape, then an elopement might be better suited to you, whilst my usual wedding coverage might be better if you’re having a full day of celebrations on a larger scale with more than 30 guests!
