Your wedding is an event, not a photoshoot
Wedding days are events, not photoshoots.
Words I’ve stood by for years, but which feel more poignant than ever. In my thirteen years as a wedding photographer, I feel that often the most beautiful photographs are the unexpected ones. The documentation of moments that would’ve otherwise gone unseen. They cannot be planned or curated. If a wedding day has space to breathe, freed from tight timelines or extensive photo lists, these moments are able to exist.
When you choose a wedding photographer, you are effectively paying someone to pay attention. With diligence and an observant eye, we spend our time anticipating and watching for moments as they unfold. The goal? Ultimately ensuring that nothing goes unnoticed.
As a father-daughter wedding photography duo, someone recently said to me: ‘You get the photos people need, your dad gets the photos people want.’ And they were spot on. As lead photographer, I have a list of non negotiable moments to photograph, and this gives my dad (as my second shooter) the space to take the most impactful photographs - often the ones people want, but perhaps didn’t know they needed. The magic of this is how the resulting candid moments fit seamlessly into the tapestry of your wedding day.
Working with various uncontrollable or unpredictable factors has its challenges, but my goal will always be to create emotive images which will one day outlive me.
Allow us the freedom to create for you - trust us, it’s worth it. 💜
